DearGrief is a monthly physical care envelope delivered straight to your door. It's designed to help you practice making room for grief in your life, without it feeling like an overwhelming chore.

The goal is to give grief a safe place to breathe so when you go out into the world, YOU can be the one running the show.

Every month, I personally curate a physical envelope filled with zero noise, zero pressure, and total support.

On Christmas Day in 2015, my world changed forever when my son, Cameron, died. In the years that followed, I learned that child loss isn't just a heavy sadness, it's a deeply physical, overwhelming experience that disrupts your entire world. Nothing about it was what I expected, and society’s pressure to quickly "heal" or find "closure" only made the isolation heavier.

It took me years of trial-and-error to discover the things that actually helped.

I created DearGrief because digital connection is only one piece of the puzzle. Scrolling through everyone else's seemingly intact lives can be exhausting when you're carrying deep loss. Grief lives in our physical bodies, inside our homes, and sometimes the digital world just adds to the noise.

We need something we can actually hold in our hands.

Every box, ritual, and radically honest word inside DearGrief is curated by me, straight from my heart to your mailbox. My mission is to give you a quiet, screen-free space to unplug, tend to yourself, and practice the act of grieving so it becomes easier to carry it with you as you go back into life.

About DearGrief

It’s for any parent who has lost a child regardless of age and how much time has passed.

Yes. Everyone who becomes a member will receive the keepsake. Limit one per customer (including if you were to cancel and return at a later time).

Delivery & Shipping

Letters are mailed on the 7th of every month. Domestic delivery typically takes 3 to 7 business days via standard USPS First-Class mail. International shipping can take 2 to 6 weeks depending on the destination.

The engraving takes longer to create and is sent separately. Therefore, may arrive after your initial letter.

Please allow up to 14 days from our mail-out date for the postal service to deliver it. If it still hasn't arrived by then, email us at [email protected] and we will send a replacement.

If the post office returns your envelope due to an incorrect or insufficient address, we will reach out to confirm your details and coordinate sending it out again.

Yes, international letters typically take 2 to 6 weeks depending on the destination.

Membership & Account Management

To change your shipping details, email us at [email protected]. Please make this change before the 1st of the month to ensure your next letter goes to the correct location.

To receive the upcoming month's letter, you must become a member by the last day of the current month.

You can cancel your membership at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. We will continue sending through the end of your term.

Your first bill occurs immediately when you sign up, and subsequent renewals are charged on the same date each month thereafter. If you signed up for an annual membership, it will renew one year after the date of original purchase.

Gifting

Absolutely. Enter the recipient’s name and address in the shipping address fields at checkout, and use your own details for the billing address.

Yes. You can include a note at checkout, and I will handwrite your message and place it inside their letter.

Custom Engraving

The monthly and annual US subscriptions, as well as the 3, 6, and 12 month gift options for US addresses are eligible to receive the engraving.

Monthly US subscribers who maintain their subscription for at least 3 months will receive their engraving after their third month. If you cancel prior to month 3 you will not be eligible for the engraving.

Annual US subscribers and US gift subscribers will be sent the engraving in month one.

Engravings are mailed separately from your monthly DearGrief letter.

By default, the engraving is not included for non-US members. This is due to the additional expense of shipping, customs, and VAT. If you wish to receive the engraving, please reach out to [email protected] for details.

The quality of the engraving is directly impacted by the quality of the image. We need a high resolution image with good contrast.

Every engraving will be different and are impacted by two major things.

The first is the quality of the image. We do what we can to edit the image, but if you don't see a high quality image it may not produce a great result.

The second is the wood. Wood is a natural product with wood grains, imperfections, and varying density that can make every engraving result different.

If not happy with your bonus keepsake, we can look into redoing it, but there will be a nomainal fee for materials, time, and shipping.

After subscribing you will be sent to a confirmation page where you can upload your image. Otherwise, you can email it to: [email protected].

Preparing and engraving your image is a time consuming process. To keep up with all engravings we ask that all annual and gift US subscribers submit their photos within 30 days of subscribing. For monthly US subscribers, please submit the image within 90 days of subscribing. If images are not submitted within those deadlines, we reserve the right to cancel the engraving.
